Overview

Join Gallagher Bassett as a Casualty Claims Handler, where you'll play a pivotal role in investigating insurance claims, determining liability, and ensuring fair settlements for our clients. This dynamic position involves assessing damages to people and property, collaborating with third parties, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Review and record claims in our in-house system, ensuring compliance with product standards and policy coverage.
  • Conduct liability investigations using various methods, including phone, correspondence, and field visits.
  • Evaluate claims by gathering evidence and adjusting reserves in line with Gallagher Bassett's realistic reserving philosophy.
  • Clearly explain liability decisions and negotiate settlements within your authority level.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to written and phone inquiries.
  • Regularly review claims to ensure accurate reserves and timely closures.
  • Build strong relationships with clients by providing friendly and efficient service.
  • Collaborate with solicitors to ensure effective case management.
  • Assist with general office administration to support smooth operations.
  • Comply with all Gallagher Bassett procedures and undertake additional duties as required.

About You

  • Previous EL and PL Claims experience
  • Ability to verify and analyse coverage for adjuster-level claims with moderate supervision.
  • Determine liability and compensability for adjuster-level claims.
  • Recognise and pursue recovery opportunities at the earliest stage.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and logically in both written and verbal formats.
  • Confidently prepare and present claims with poise.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
