Are looking for that next step in your career, we are hiring A Deputy Manager to join the team. If you have worked as a Team Leader in care but now looking for progression, we would love to hear from you!

You will receive a competitive salary of up to £30,075 including 4 sleep-in's per month. Additional sleep-in's and shifts are available if you would like any overtime.

Established in 2013, Amegreen are an independent children services provider of residential Childrens homes. In our homes we provide therapeutic care to children aged between 5 to 18. These children receive our valuable services to provide them with the best possible start to their early years.We pride ourselves on achieving an Ofsted outstanding rating across our homes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Learning about the young person’s interests as well as their dislikes and their triggers, using that connection as a launchpad for a rewarding relationship.
  • Responsible for the wellbeing of the children in your care.
  • Leading, training and developing new and existing care workers within your team
  • Working as part of an incredible committed team, you will co-operate and share knowledge and learning amongst your team.
  • You will manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager and ensure that all care planning, regulations, leadership requirements and needs of the children are met.

Within our homes we offer care and support to children providing them with structure, consistency, and nurturing as part of day-to-day living, always ensuring the safety of each child. You will build effective relationships with the children, support them with routine (personal care may be required). Join the team in activities and holidays with the children, create meaningful care plans, write reports and ensure records are kept clear and up to date. These are just some examples of the work you will do that will support our children with their everyday lives.

There will be great days where you will laugh, play games and bring joy to the children but there will be times where the children will test you, but by listening to them, guiding, and offering comfort during challenging times through your kindness, you will find this role really rewarding and see more of those great days!

Skills and experience required:

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship for Children Young People and Families Practitioner, or NVQ equivalent
  • Previous care practice experience
  • Leadership experience of teams
  • Committed to giving colleagues the space and opportunity to develop, creating a nurturing environment to fulfil their potential
  • Able to provide a safe, secure, and containing space where children can feel comfortable to express themselves
  • Emotionally aware and resilient to be able to support the children and the staff team you will be working with. Many of our children have complex needs and you will need to be confident in managing challenging behaviours
