Key Responsibilities


  • Formulate the UK & Ireland IT strategy and provide input to the overall regional business plans in line with regional business strategy and objectives, corporate guidelines and policies
  • Set direction and drive preparation and execution of IT plans and convergence of regional to global applications, in collaboration with other businesses and IT functional stakeholders
  • Lead, oversee and control highly strategic activities and initiatives across the region with significant impact on overall results and very high business risk potential
  • Direct preparation of IT budgets and proposals for investments, and monitor major investments
  • Determine IT governance mechanisms for the region within overall corporate guidelines
  • Direct effective and efficient delivery of all IT services and solutions within the region aligned with the overall business strategy and priorities
  • Evaluate and approve all major IT projects including integration projects at the regional level
  • Drive the delivery of agreed programs and projects within quality, time, cost and constraints within the region
  • Steer performance, build relations and manage IT service providers based in the geography and other locations where services may be provided
  • Ensure acceptance of critical targets and objectives where concepts and ideas need to be sold to others
  • Negotiate agreements and contracts, and provide authorization while slightly changing terms & conditions, as required
  • Network and develop strong business and IT relationships for the region, ensuring co-ordination, direction and interaction with counterparts to meet their needs and resolve issues
  • Introduce and embed world class IT operations and practices at the regional level
  • Deliver innovation that effects the way the region is operating


Skills And Qualifications

The skills, qualities and experience required include senior leadership experience, able to demonstrate a strong focus on both respect and results. A proven track record in establishing and implementation of IT strategies with long-term impact on business results in alignment with global divisional objectives and directly impacting the organization’s business strategy is a must for the role. Experience of working in a matrix and delivering through and as part of a team is critical and experience of leading culture change would be beneficial.


  • University degree / MBA.
  • At least 8-10 years relevant experience in IT function.
  • Supply chain experience is preferred but not a must have.
  • Experience in shaping the strategy for a large unit/team.
