Progress School are recruiting for a cook to join their catering team!
We are looking for passionate people, who can promote healthy eating and provide varied meals that meet the required care standards and contribute to the wellbeing of our Children and Young People.
In this role, you will be responsible for the cooking within the school as well as the menu planning, ordering food each week and adhering to set budgets within the School to deliver healthy, varied and nutritious diets for young people and the staff within the school. In addition, be responsible for the ensuring that the kitchen and associated areas are kept to a high standard of hygiene, including food and equipment storage.

Progress School is a highly specialist day school for children and young people aged 7 to 19. We support young people with a range of complex developmental disabilities, specialising in . Some of our students live in one of our registered children’s homes, offering 38 or 52 week residential care, whilst others remain in their family home.

A Level 3 Qualification Or Equivalent Is An Essential Requirement, As Well As Previous Experience Preparing And Cooking Meals Gained Within a Professional Kitchen Environment Along With The Following Characteristics
Communication Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
Organisation You will need to be confident and organised in updating menus, dietary requirements and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.
Attentive No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
