Care Placement Coordinator
Luton Borough Council
Date: 1 day ago
City: Luton
Contract type: Part time

About The Job
Salary: £32,115 - £35,235 a year pro rata
Hours per week: 37
Contract type: Fixed Term until 31/03/2026
This position is available as a secondment opportunity until 31/03/2026. If you are a permanent LBC employee, you must have written approval (an email will suffice) from your manager prior to applying and a copy will need to be submitted with your application. Please note: we will not be able to proceed with your application form without your manager’s permission.
This is an exciting opportunity to manage the sourcing and placement of care packages for commissioned services. You’ll be responsible for negotiating care provisions, maintaining high-quality systems and records, and ensuring services are delivered effectively. Working closely with social care and health professionals, providers, and customers, you’ll make informed decisions about short-term adjustments and determine when a full review is necessary.
The role involves collaboration with multiple agencies and requires an understanding of different adult social care client groups. Your ability to analyse and present data will inform strategies and plans, while your focus on customer satisfaction will ensure that people feel supported, even when expectations cannot be fully met.
You’ll also contribute to the development of services by applying your knowledge of relevant legislation, including safeguarding, personalisation, and CQC care standards. Occasionally, the role may require site visits and working outside typical office hours, reflecting the dynamic needs of the service.
Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.
About You
You bring valuable experience in social care or a health-related field, complemented by your understanding of collaborative, partnership-based working. Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to build trust and confidence with colleagues, providers, and customers, even in sensitive or high-pressure situations.
With a methodical approach, you excel in managing care placements and balancing competing priorities. Your technical skills include proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management, and you’re confident in writing clear, concise reports.
You have a solid grasp of equality issues and strategies to address health inequalities, along with an understanding of legislation and policies that underpin care provision. A commitment to personal and professional development, evidenced by your NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent experience), ensures you’re always growing in your role.
Above all, you’re someone who values integrity, professionalism, and collaboration, always striving to deliver the best outcomes.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English
