Summary
Freedom Network Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Carder/Surveyor. The role would be to survey works at planning stage completing an On-Site Pre Works Risk Assessment identifying any risks for the operational staff prior to project delivery. There would be the necessity to compile comprehensive surveys identifying network condition and configuration, recording of assets and identifying Traffic Management and Streetworks Permit requirements.
As a Carder/Surveyor you will take the lead in engaging with the customer, Traffic management Surveyor and Local Highways Authority. The role will also involve the delivery of on-site Customer Interruption Letters and Reminder Letters for a planned power outage.
The Carder/Surveyor is a key player in driving company growth by ensuring safe and planned delivery of all aspects of the project.
You will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of local DNO networks (preferably LV to 33kV). Typical projects will incorporate Streetworks/TM, all civils works, network investigation & customer interruptions, familiarity of distribution systems and customer point of connection and metering.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- Preparation of detailed site surveys
- On site assessments and evaluate any risks and potential problems
- Evaluations of options or alternatives
- Liaising with operational colleagues
- Awareness of and conform to Freedom’s SHEQ policy and issued safety instructions - maintaining site safety at all times.
- Conform to all instructions stated in method statements and risk assessments.
- Ensure Customer Interruption letters are delivered accurately as per carding list
- Ensure detailed carding records are kept and updated
- Engage face to face with customers with regards to outages and work activities within the local area
- Experience and knowledge of the Underground and Overhead HV & LV Network
- Formal training in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or another relevant subject
- A full driving licence
- DNO Authorisations - Desirable
- NRSWA Streetworks Ticket
- A strong understanding of the LV DNO Network
- Understanding of network drawings
- Good Customer Engagement Skills
