About the role:
As a CAD Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in the driven development of aluminium casting processes and tooling. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to optimise part quality, production efficiency, and tooling performance. This is a hands-on role where your technical insight will directly influence the success of our casting programmes. This exciting position offers a great learning path towards being a Lead CAE Engineering or Casting Simulation Specialist.
What you’ll be doing:

- Running detailed simulations using MAGMASOFT to identify and resolve casting issues.
- Interpreting simulation results and driving continuous process improvements.
- Collaborating with production, toolmaking, and quality teams to ensure feasibility and performance.
- Documenting simulation and tooling designs for traceability and improvement.
- Developing advanced casting methods to ensure robust filling and solidification.
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers in simulation best practices.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a proactive and experienced CAD professional with a deep understanding of tool, dye and mould injection design principles, who thrives in a collaborative, technical environment.
You’ll need:
- 2+ years’ experience in CAD engineering, ideally within a casting or foundry setting.
- Great 3D CAD skills (Solidworks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or Creo).
- Experience designing tooling for manufacturing processes.
- Ability to manage projects and solve technical challenges independently.
- Proficiency in casting simulation tools (e.g., MAGMASOFT).
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Knowledge of DFM/A and lean manufacturing principles (desirable).
- Experience with sand casting, gravity die, or high-pressure die casting (desirable).
What you’ll get:
We’ll provide you with a supportive and engaging environment where you can grow your skills and further your career. We’ll work with you to develop your personal professional development plan, tailored to your goals and ambitions.
In addition, you’ll get the following benefits:
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with the option to purchase more holiday days after your first year.
