The Opportunity:


We are seeking a dynamic Buyer to play a key role in ensuring that all materials and components required for new products are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards. This position involves close collaboration with the product development and supplier teams to meet project timelines and budget constraints.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Sourcing & Procurement: Identify and evaluate suppliers for new product components, materials, and services. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches. Ensure timely delivery of materials and components to meet project deadlines. Monitor and report on project milestones, procurement status, and potential risks.
  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure supplier compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations as needed.
  • Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies that may impact procurement strategies. Provide insights and recommendations based on market research and supplier capabilities.
  • Cost Management: Manage and control procurement budgets for new product development projects. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.


Experience & Qualifications:


  • Highly proficient in MS Office systems including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent numerical skills with good attention to detail
  • Exceptional organisational ability and prioritisation skills
  • Must be able to communicate across all levels of the business, from factory floor to Senior Directors and externally with Suppliers and Freight companies
  • Has commercial acumen and an understanding of business issues
  • Pivotal team player, has a collaborative approach
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multi-projects
  • Deadline driven and motivated: self-starter: a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Successful within a fast-paced environment responds well to pressure and change
  • Professional, adaptable and flexible
