We are looking for a Buyer who can manage supplier relationships, keep materials flowing smoothly for production, and help improve our supply chain. The Buyer role will be based in Tricel Weston. The position reports directly into the Group Purchasing Manager.

Tricel Weston is an established manufacturer of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) products with over 60 years’ experience and industry knowledge. The company is a market leading supplier of GRP water storage tanks, housing and biofilters in the UK. Acquired by Tricel in 1999, the subsidiary has since operated to supply a comprehensive range of industry-leading products to some of the most significant projects both domestically and internationally.With an industry specialisation in sectional water tanks and one-piece tanks, the company offers water storage solutions in standard offerings as well as custom design. Sectional tank solutions are available ranging in capacity from 1,000 to 1,500,000 litres, while one-piece tanks are available from 30 to 9,000 litres in size. Responsibilities
The Buyer will be responsible for the following areas across in the Tricel Weston site:
- Be the point of contact with our sales & operations team in respect of purchasing & stock control issues.Work with potential suppliers to source quality materials, products, transport, and services ensuring they meet our quality, legal, and safety requirements, and develop fair and effective commercial agreements.
- Ensure the timely & accurate generation of all purchase orders, the tracking of all shipments & full root cause & corrective action to all delivery non-conformances.Analyse supply and demand to forecast inventory needs to meet the Production plan and minimise stock shortages or excesses.

- Monitor and maintain inventory levels in line with agreed targets & based on usage and sales.
- Ensure all relevant purchasing SOP’s are strictly adhered to & that all transactions are carried out effectively and efficiently in accordance with company procedure and policy.
- Work with relevant departments to resolve supply chain issues including quality issues, shortages, invoice discrepancies with goods in & overstock situations.
- Work with the operations team to ensure all stock transactions are carried out correctly and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and policies.
- Update ERP system accurately & efficiently to optimise business efficiency.
- Maintain purchasing reports and KPI’s.
- Support improvement project activity and new product introduction working with the Operations, Engineering and Quality to implement changes and sustain improvements.

- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory management software and or ERP system advantageous
- Good Excel skills
- Experience within a Warehouse / Supply Chain role for a minimum of 2 years.
- Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem Solving Abilities: Needed to address supply chain disruptions and inventory
