Business Sr IT Reporting Engineer

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The position sits within the IT Business Systems and follows a hybrid work model. The role reports directly to the Head of BI and Reporting. Other working relationships include all members of the Infrastructure, Security & Networking, Service Delivery, Site Management, Unified Communication teams as well as all users worldwide and external suppliers. The workplace is in London.

OVERALL PURPOSE

The main purpose of the role is to collaborate with the Business and the Reporting Team, to provide datasets and reporting solutions from varied sources.

This encompasses the lifecycle of reporting and data extraction from analysis and data sourcing to post-delivery support and training. In the robust and appropriate technical environment.

Principal Elements & Accountabilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define reporting requirements and specifications for data visualization and business MI.
• Work with colleagues in the Reporting Team to manage requirements, validate technical specifications, and set priorities.
• Liaise with the Data Team to review data availability and ensure data integrity.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Maintain the existing report catalog and implement enhancements based on business needs.
• Handle ad hoc change requests and optimize existing reporting solutions.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency through data profiling and cleansing techniques.
• Engage with the wider IT department on infrastructure, data governance, and security matters.
• Support and train business users and data stewards on developed solutions and self-service reporting applications.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in BI development.
  
  

Qualifications & Techinical Skills

• 3+ years of experience in a BI/Data Analytics role, with hands-on experience in reporting and data visualization.
• Proficiency with SQL and data modelling techniques.
• Experience working with reporting tools such as:
• Power BI – Strongly preferred (or willingness to learn if proficient in similar tools like Tableau or Qlik).
• Power Automate, SSRS, SSIS – Will be a key advantage.
• Experience with Python (2+ years) or other analytical/statistical tools (e.g., R) is also an advantage.
• Understanding of ETL processes and best practices in data warehousing.
• Knowledge of Power BI Service and the broader Power Platform is an advantage.
• Strong data visualization and storytelling skills—ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
