This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of our fast moving, creative and innovative team as we now are looking for a new Business Development Manager Ingredient Specialties. This role is an entry point to a commercial role and set you on the path of Junior Account Manager position.
You will be responsible for developing, managing and grow new and existing Local food and beverage accounts.
In addition, we count on you as an important member of the Northern Europe Team. You will take care of managing the sales to these accounts effectively; with the goal to ensure growth of the business together with other BU. You will work in close collaboration with our excellent teams in Innovation, Creation & Design, Marketing, Sensory, Supply Chain and Operations throughout Europe. You are excited to find new ways of doing things and enjoy the power of teams. In this role you report into the Category Sales Leader . You will have a unique opportunity to broaden your network with the extensive IFF teams of different functions in the UK/Ireland.

Developing and Managing Existing Business
- Manage and develop excellent customer relationship
- Achieve profitable sales growth together with the customer
- Optimize supply chain by providing accurate sales forecasts and streamlining order patterns for customers and IFF
- Cooperate with Operations to manage order-related customer enquiries, ensuring that the customer is always given the information they require when needed
- Responsible for a healthy pricing strategy and contract negotiations
- Work closely with IFF global procurement to share latest insights on raw materials with customers.
- Accountable for all communications with the customer and constantly keep the IFF Customer Service and Operations departments updated to ensure timely delivery of orders and all documents related to legal and quality issues and specifications
- Overall, you ensure that IFF is recognized as a key partner to our customers with the objective of growing our joint business long-term
- Follow and understand the market movements and translate them into new business opportunities
- Initiate and implement customer activities such as creative workshops; trend & inspiration sessions; innovation & technology experiences
- Create and develop joint value creation for customer and IFF
- Build and overall manage the relationships between the different functions at the customer and with IFF.
- Responsible for achieving the growth targets agreed by winning new business
- Team building of the core teams which includes the Commercial, Technical and Marketing functions and individuals attached to each account
- Together with core teams, provide all information necessary all matters relating to the service of the accounts. This includes:
- Presentations to customers
- Arranging customer visits / workshops
- Responsible for offers / quotes / pricing
- Ordering and progress tracking of samples and required documentation
- Keeping the customer up to date at all times
- Responsible for managing new opportunities and projects, and their accurate and detailed entry into the IFF project systems for optimal business progress and project outcome
- Manage the relationship within IFF with Creation, Application and other teams and monitor project progress.
- Responsible for the project pipeline
- Together with relevant teams and experts within, develop account- and business development plans for your accounts
- Preferably bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or food technology, or similar
- Strategic thinker and executer
- Excellent communications and negotiation skills
- Open personality with a flexible approach
- Passionate, persistent but above all a good listener
- Translate customer needs into value adding solutions
- Results driven with ability to keep both short-term and long-term goals in mind
- Ability to create strong relationships with customers
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Co-ordination and organizational skills
- Ability to deal with basic financial concepts/processes (Pricing/Margin/Forecasting)
- Excellent Computer Skills (MS Office) and ability to manage internal business tools
- Ideally some experience in a B2B or B2C Sales Management function, preferably within the food and beverage industry
- If possible relevant work experience in the area of taste design, specialty ingredients, flavors and food markets
- The position is hybrid with 3days in the office when not travelling and the role is based in Wellingborough UK
- Up to approx.40-50% travel required, mostly within the UK and also to other European locations when required
