Farrow and Ball – Business Development Manager - London/ East Based
We are currently looking for an experienced individual to join our Sales team as a Business Development Manager. We are offering this position on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be based in London/ East, whilst this role will be home based there will be a requirement for frequent travel.
Farrow & Ball are a luxury British lifestyle brand that prides itself in creating richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper, using print methods dating back 300 years and the finest quality ingredients.

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for providing the highest level of customer service whilst driving sales and helping the business meet and exceed targets, via all third party sales channels. What we expect from you as a Business Development Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- To manage and develop existing third-party relationships in national accounts and independent businesses across a defined territory as part of the UK&I Field Sales Team.
- Identify business opportunities in existing accounts to drive growth in priority locations by undertaking a commercial review of each account
- Work closely in managing the sales pipeline as well as identifying new independent relationships with potential Stockists, Trade Book Holders and OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to maximise sales.
- To provide merchandising support along with effective communication of all marketing campaign activity to all third parties.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets across all relevant third-party channels by delivering high levels of support and being accountable for account activity to drive sales growth.
- Visit and review all defined accounts, meeting the required service level agreement
- Conduct thorough strategic account visits, put forward commercial recommendations and set clear agreed objectives that develop and improve the business which achieve an optimum ROI
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships by identifying the appropriate contacts within your territory
- Develop honest and effective working relationships with accounts in your area, communicating brand vision and best practice to ensure the highest in-store standards, service and customer experience to the F&B consumer.
- Provide a monthly report covering sales analysis by customer for your region; market trends, competitor/customer feedback, achievements in month ending and action plan for the months ahead.
- Complete in a timely manner all required administrative tasks required by Head Office including but not limited to; budgets, mileage logs, H&S documents.
- Maintain a record of spend and manage the allocated FOC and marketing budgets.
- Maintain strong working relationships internally across Farrow & Ball and globally in terms of sharing best practice and working on joint projects and initiatives.
Key Attributes:
- Exceptional communication skills, both spoken and written
- The ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
- Proven exceptional sales and customer satisfaction record.
- Ability to work in a high paced environment and prioitise key tasks
- Proficient using IT - Microsoft suite - Outlook, Excel, word, PowerPoint
- Good understanding of finacial (sales) forecasting and analysis
- Having technical knowledge of paint and wallpaper are desirable.
This role will require regular driving to and from client sites, a clean driving licence will be required for this role.
