This role is defined as a safety critical role within the Drug & Alcohol Testing Procedure. You must therefore be willing to comply in accordance with this procedure.

About The Post

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Barnsley Museums to lead our Commercial Development Team.

This is a pivotal role within the service, shaping the embedding commerciality with colleagues and supporting a positive visitor experience across our heritage sites as a whole.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Challenged Drive Income Generation And Meet Annual Targets For The Service Through The Effective Delivery And Growth Of a Range Of Activities And Initiatives

  • Management and development of the retail offer across five site specific locations.
  • Delivery and development of commercial events and activity programmes varying size and scale across key sites.
  • Support the development of tenancy mix and ensure site occupancy policies are maintained and managed across sites.
  • Support targeted fundraising for the service.
  • Reimagine the current wedding and functions offer across sites.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities.

The successful candidate will have proven experience within the field, leadership skills to manage a dedicated team and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

The role requires the post holder to use their own initiative and demonstrate strong communication skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
