Business Development Director (Financial Services Sector UK)

Content Guru is a leading global provider of enterprise cloud Customer Experience (CX) and contact centre solutions, and we are at the forefront of the Generative AI evolution.

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Director to lead our sales efforts within the UK Financial Services sector. If you’re passionate about building high-performing teams, winning strategic accounts, and driving growth in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

What we are looking for…

We’re seeking a confident leader with a proven track record in business development, preferably within the SaaS or cloud services space. You’ll be responsible for leading a team of sales professionals, winning new customers, and growing revenues with key accounts, all while delivering excellent customer experiences.

Location…

This role is based at our head office in Bracknell, Berkshire, and will require travel to customer sites across the UK.

Key responsibilities of the role…

Leadership & Management

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Business Development Managers and Executives.
  • Set clear work standards, performance goals, and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and drive professional development.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration and customer-centric thinking.

Business Development

  • Personally own and develop key sales opportunities within the Financial Services sector.
  • Develop and execute sector-specific sales strategies aligned with overall business goals.
  • Build relationships with key customer stakeholders and understand their business drivers.
  • Deliver high-quality, compelling proposals and lead virtual bid teams when required.

Customer Success & Communication

  • Ensure a seamless transition from sale to delivery, coordinating with internal teams.
  • Proactively manage and grow existing accounts, identifying upsell opportunities.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and drive solution adoption and usage.

Industry & Product Expertise

  • Maintain a deep understanding of Content Guru’s services and relevant industry trends.
  • Present compelling business cases and ROI-focused value propositions to customers.
  • Mentor and support team members in improving their product knowledge and sales approach.

About You…

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Extensive experience in business development or enterprise sales, ideally in SaaS or cloud.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a high-performing sales team.
  • Comfortable working with C-level stakeholders and driving strategic conversations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and structured sales processes.
  • Previous experience in Financial Services or a regulated industry is highly desirable.
