My client in financial services is looking for a Business Data Analyst to translate business needs into actionable insights using IBM Cognos, Power BI, and other BI tools. This hybrid role involves stakeholder management, collaborating with the wider data team, and driving data-driven decision-making.

Description

The Business Data Analyst will gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into actionable insights using IBM Cognos, Power BI, and other BI tools. Key responsibilities include:

  • Stakeholder Management - Engaging with teams to understand data needs and provide solutions.
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation - Identifying trends, patterns, and insights to drive decision-making.
  • BI Reporting & Visualisation - Creating reports and dashboards to present data effectively.
  • Collaboration with Data Teams - Working alongside data engineers and BI developers to ensure data accuracy and quality.
  • Testing & Documentation - Coordinating user testing, maintaining reports, and ensuring data governance.

Profile

The successful candidate will have a strong background in business analysis with excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of gathering and translating business requirements into actionable data solutions. They should be proficient in IBM Cognos, Power BI, and advanced Excel skills, with a keen eye for detail and a disciplined approach to analysis and documentation. A proactive and self-motivated individual, they will be comfortable working with cross-functional teams and have the ability to manage time and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
