We are recruiting for a Business Analyst to join the European Outbound Logistics Technology team on a full time basis on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract, reporting into the Delivery Lead.


The European business analyst Supply Chain is responsible gathering, documenting, and interpreting business needs into a succinct and concise set of functional and non-functional requirements. The role will provide support to the wider technology team in the delivery of small change and strategic business initiatives and projects throughout the full lifecycle.


A strong communicator, the successful candidate will function as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure the successful delivery of IT solutions. This role will involve analysing and understanding business needs, translating them into technical requirements and documenting test scenarios, scripts, and user outcomes. The role will also work with the Service Transition and Service Delivery team to take the solution through transition into support.


This role is offering a contract that will require travel commitment to our depots and as such a good degree of self-motivation and flexibility is required. The role will reside within the Enterprise Technology function; however, may be required to spend time with business stakeholders on site across Europe as projects require, or work across other functional pillars as deemed necessary.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for gathering, documenting and interpreting business needs into succinct and concise functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Responsible for documenting test scenarios, scripts, and user outcomes
  • Create process flow diagrams, and documentation to map business processes to business requirements and user stories.
  • Key role in communicating between the business and BT acting as a translator where necessary, translating business needs into functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Ensure personal knowledge and exposure to business change opportunities remains up to date, appropriate and relevant.
  • The role is expected to work within internal project delivery governance processes, with familiarity of both agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Management of costs will be required for small change delivery.
  • This role will be the consistent thread throughout the lifecycle of change, utilising strong analytical skill set to take business requirements through to successful delivery of a technical solution into the BAU teams.
  • The role will reside within the Supply Chain Technology function; however, may be required to spend time with business stakeholders on site across Europe as projects require, or work across other functional pillars as deemed necessary.
  • The role is expected to work within internal project delivery governance processes, with familiarity of both agile and waterfall methodologies.


About you:


To be successful in this role you must have the ability to build strong and long-lasting relationships with stakeholders through positive and proactive engagement and have the ability to ask insightful questions to extract details required from stakeholders. You will possess a high level of attention to detail and be organised with the ability to present and document information based on the needs of the project. You’ll have an analytical and inquisitive mindset and think tactically and strategically presenting options to solve problems. You must also have the ability to support projects in surfacing risks / issues early and suggest mitigation options to resolve. Experience of requirements gathering through direct interaction with business users or in a workshop environment and ability to prioritise e.g. MOSCOW.
