Key Responsibilities
In your role as a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
- Offer tailored support to students with Special Educational (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them navigate challenges in their education.
- Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils to foster a sense of security and belonging.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to provide a consistent and supportive learning environment.
- Assist in developing and maintaining individual support plans for students.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to staff and families.
To excel in this Behaviour Support Assistant role, you should have:
- Prior experience working with children with SEN/SEMH needs (essential).
- A calm, patient, and nurturing attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with pupils, staff, and families.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviours in a positive and constructive manner.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one.
