Job Title: Behaviour Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: London Borough of Bexley

Job Type: Contract, Full Time 8:30am – 4pm

Daily Rate: £85 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Post-16 College located in the London Borough of Bexley is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Behaviour Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a full time position to start immediately.

The successful Behaviour Learning Support Assistant (LSA) will have expertise in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and those who use wheelchairs. The role involves working 1:1, with small groups, and within the classroom setting to support students' educational and behavioural development.

• Proven experience working with students with ASD, SEMH, and physical disabilities as either a Behaviour LSA (Learning Support Assistant) OR SEN Teaching Assistant / TA / Youth Worker / Child Residential Support Worker / SEN Support Worker etc
• You live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Bexley
• In date enhanced DBS on the update service or able to pay for a new one ASAP
• Understanding of behaviour management techniques and interventions within the classroom.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
• Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs are desirable.
• Experience with assistive technology and mobility aids for wheelchair users is an advantage.
• Provide tailored support to students with ASD and SEMH needs, ensuring their individual educational and behavioural plans are followed.
• Assist wheelchair users with mobility and access to learning activities.
• Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups to deliver focused learning interventions.
• Support classroom teachers in managing behaviour and implementing effective strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
• Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and other educational staff.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging student engagement and participation.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
