Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled Battery Researcher to join and strengthen our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for research and development, with a focus on battery testing and benchmarking. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop, optimize, and scale up a new class of organic electrolytes for redox flow batteries, aligning with our mission and business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimental work to benchmark our proprietary electrolytes against existing alternatives.
- Perform battery testing, including galvanostatic charge-discharge cycling, capacity retention analysis, Coulombic efficiency and round-trip efficiency monitoring, and post-mortem analysis of electrolyte chemistry.
- Perform electrochemical characterization using techniques such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), rotating disk electrode (RDE) analysis, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
- Analyze and interpret data to guide electrolyte formulation and optimization.
- Collaborate with chemists and other scientists to integrate electrochemical insights into product development.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, protocols, and results.
- Ensure all laboratory practices comply with safety regulations and company standards.
- Stay informed about recent advances in the field and apply relevant knowledge to ongoing projects.
Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical engineering, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in research; your PhD experience counts.
- Strong hands-on experience in battery research and electrochemistry. Experimental work with redox flow batteries is an advantage.
- Proficiency with chemistry lab software for data analysis.
- Programming experience (Python/Matlab) for data analysis is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and execute complex experiments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in multidisciplinary environment.
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
