Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well-known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

Overview Of Role
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Salary: Starting at £27,396.61 increasing to £31,084.13 after training.
Shifts: Range of varied shifts from 4 on 4 off night shifts and 4 on 4 off (2 days/2 nights) in addition to these, 4 days shift a week with a range of start times may be available.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic team players to join our production team.
As Bakery Operative, it is your responsibility to ensure the efficient operation of the plant to produce high quality bread products whilst maintaining high standards of cleaning, hygiene, housekeeping, and safety. You will also be responsible for recording process control information such as metal detection and weighing checks and will continuously monitor quality standards, reporting or rectifying problems to ensure effective team working.
This is a demanding role in a heavily audited and busy factory environment. A genuine enthusiasm for food manufacturing coupled with a resilient and positive attitude is essential.

There is an expectation that any employee within AB demonstrates a flexible and can do approach to their work and may on occasion be required to take part in other areas of the business, to provide resource and expertise as required but also to give the individual opportunity to develop their own skill base and broader knowledge.

- Engages in the Safety First culture and compliance with AB internal policies and procedures
- To deliver product quality to required standards
- To contribute to the delivery of a production plan
- Ensure that their own, development and training needs are identified. Participate in the proactive environment of learning (1:1’s)
- To actively participate and contribute in the sharing of “Best Practice” within manufacturing

The Right Person
Essential
- Demonstrate a good level of Health and Food Safety awareness
- Numerical, reading and information recording skills.
- This is a demanding role in a heavily audited and busy factory environment. A genuine enthusiasm for food manufacturing coupled with a resilient and positive attitude is essential.
- An in-depth understanding and application of food hygiene/GMP/(ABSS standards)
- Understanding of baking process
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (CIEH Level 2) IOSH or equivalent
- Ability to demonstrate basic engineering competencies/mechanical empathy
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques
- Computer Literate (understand and interact with HMI screens)
