  • 12 hours shifts.

Job Introduction


Based at our purpose built, state-of-the-art, one million sq. ft. distribution centre in Amesbury, Wiltshire, we are now recruiting for an experienced and highly skilled Automation Engineer.

The Automation Engineer helps run and maintain our automated handling system, including caddy pick, miniload, cranes and conveyor systems.


Our Engineering and Facilities Team are responsible for ensuring that equipment is maintained to a high standard and keeping production downtime to an absolute minimum.


Job Overview


The primary focus of the engineering role is to assist the Engineering and Facilities Manager in driving efficiency through the effective maintenance of all automated processes across the site.

The speed of response is important and having the ability to quickly and safely deduce the cause of any fault and return equipment to operational capability to minimise any disruption to core activities is crucial.


Minimum Criteria To Apply


  • Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering
  • Experience of working with automated handling systems
  • Experience of working at heights
  • Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good level of computer literacy
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience of Computer Maintenance Management Systems
