Responsibilities

We’re expanding, which means we are looking for an Audit and Accounts Junior who may have recently finished their degree in either Accounting and Finance, Economics or related field. This role is ideal for someone who aspires to learning and progressing in the Audit and Accounts field as well as studying towards ACA/ACCA, with fully funded study package (including the time off to attend courses and exams). The duties will involve providing accurate accounting and assurance services to a diverse range of clients, as directed by the Manager, within budget and in accordance with firm procedures. This is a great opportunity to work with an incredibly broad range of clients. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with accounts preparation for Limited companies, Sole traders and Partnerships
  • Analysing data to form the basis of the accounts
  • Manage bookkeeping services in an accurate and timely manner
  • Complete VAT returns and file VAT returns online
  • Ensuring all client work is completed within applicable reporting deadlines and client requests
  • Ensuring all jobs are completed within specific budgets, keeping Manager informed at all times of progress of job
  • Work closely with Management to assist in developing ongoing effective relationships with clients, and ensure retention of clients
  • Keep abreast of developments in audit, accounting, taxation and relevant computer software
  • Assisting with ad-hoc duties as and when is required

About you

Skills

You will be confident in working to a high standard, have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to your work. Additionally, we’d like you to have/be:

  • Working towards a professional qualification (desired)
  • Ideally hold either a relevant degree in accountancy, economics or similar subject
  • Competent using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Outstanding time management skills and ability to prioritise work
  • Excellent work ethics and eagerness to learn
  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills
