About The Role
We are currently seeking an Associate Invigilator to join our Examinations department at The Bedford College Group.
As an Invigilator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you. Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.

About The Role
We are currently seeking an Associate Invigilator to join our Examinations department at The Bedford College Group.
As an Invigilator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Examination Conduct – Carry out exams in strict accordance with Awarding Body regulations and Bedford College Group procedures, ensuring integrity and compliance throughout.
- Security & Confidentiality – Maintain the security of exam papers, scripts, and candidate data before, during, and after exams, including secure collection and return of materials.
- Candidate Management – Prepare exam rooms with required materials, seat candidates per plans, check IDs, enforce rules on unauthorised items, and support access arrangements.
- Operational Duties – Administer paper-based and online exams, make required announcements, monitor for malpractice, complete attendance and incident documentation accurately.
- Statutory Responsibilities – Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, health & safety, and engage in ongoing training and development in line with Bedford College Group policies.
- Qualifications & IT Skills – GCSEs (A–C) in English and Maths or equivalent, or willingness to achieve Level 2; proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel and Teams.
- Customer Service & Communication – Strong customer service skills, confident face-to-face communication, and ability to create a welcoming and supportive environment for students and customers.
- Teamwork & Initiative – Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, valuing others’ contributions and consistently supporting a high-quality student experience.
- Organisation & Reliability – Excellent organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines, follow procedures, and demonstrate high performance in previous roles.
- Flexibility & Mobility – Flexible approach to working hours and locations, with the ability to travel to alternative sites as required.
