Assistant Project Manager - Remote with travel - £45,000 to £54,000

About the role:

As an Assistant Project Manager in our Decommissioning team within Gas Construction, you'll support with agile, fast paced, complex decommissioning projects for a multitude of gas assets which have reached the end of their operational life.

You'll be supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of decommissioning projects to time, cost, specification and ensuring health, safety and environmental issues are managed throughout the process. You'll provide the appropriate support into the pre-sanction design process in project development, including reviewing the proposals for SHE management, project risks, deliverability, and safety performance.

You'll also provide regular updates and project monthly status reports which will include SHE performance, milestone progress, risk management and current/forecast financial performance. Working closely with the Site Supervisor, you'll manage and coordinate contractors and project teams and reporting on the contractor performance.

We're keen to grow the Project Managers of tomorrow. Therefore, for those keen to progress in their role to become a Project Manager, we'll give you the support and tools needed to succeed.

Travel will be part of the job – we have a national portfolio. You'll spend your working week travelling and working on sites during delivery phases with home working when you don’t need to be on site. Therefore, it’s essential you hold a full UK driving licence.

What we're looking for:

Essential:

  • Construction and site experience, ideally in the gas industry
  • Willingness to travel and work away up to 5 days a week
  • Full UK car driving licence

Desirable:

  • Minimum of HNC/HND level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering, project management or construction discipline
  • Working towards or willing to undertake a part time engineering or project management course/degree
  • Be supported by an industry recognised qualification in health, safety, and the environment
