About the role
As an Assistant Product Manager, your primary role will be supporting the product development team in the management of product delivery for Boots own brand across both beauty and general merchandise categories. You will be a key contact point for agency partners and key stakeholders and will build strong relationships across the business. You will be great at product execution and delivery. Your ability to manage multiple projects at any given time will be key, as will be your comfort in working seamlessly within our matrix organisation.
You'll lead the end-to-end product development to deliver these plans, from creating compelling, consumer-led concepts through to delivering the finished product on shelf. You'll react fast to ever changing product trends & consumer needs, identifying opportunities to add value to the business & while meeting customer needs better than ever before.
About the role:
You'll work closely with your colleagues across the business along with external design agencies and external suppliers to bring your products to life in the most compelling way.
- You'll report into the product manager for your category
- You'll be passionate about trends and TikTok.
- You will be comfortable managing multiple projects while ensuring efficient and timely delivery.
- You will take ownership of the end-to-end product development for your categories, from concept creation through to ensuring the on time delivery and sufficiency of the product plans.
- You'll be responsible for mapping market & category trends and opportunities, translating macro trends into each and every element of the product.
- You will have a deep understanding of our product development process, always looking for opportunities to work smarter.
- Support the product development team in the creation and improvement of beauty and general merchandise products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical, sourcing, packaging and marketing to bring products from concept to market.
- Assist in the management of project timelines and budgets to ensure successful product launches.
What you'll need to have:
If you love beauty products, you'll love our team! We'd really like for someone who can:
- Demonstrate experience in end-to-end product development.
- Follow beauty and fashion trends, with a keen interest in what is the next trending product.
- Comfortable with the more technical aspects of product formulations and artwork.
- Articulate with numbers as you'll need to understand cost prices, exchange rates, margins and business case outputs.
- You're passionate about great design and have experience in briefing and feeding back to agencies
- You are relationship builder and have experience working in cross functional teams
- You're passionate & thrive on finding new and improved ways of doing things
- The beauty industry is ever evolving, so an assistant product manager should be open to continuous learning, whether it's new ingredients, regulations, or consumer preferences
- Product development requires close collaboration with other departments like sourcing, technical, regulatory, packaging and marketing. You should be able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Naturally curious & keen to gain an understanding of complex formulations & ingredients - confident in asking the cross-functional team how things work to ensure that we deliver best in class NPD.
