An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and committed individual, to join a very busy Catering Department as an Assistant Head Cook.

Based at Glangwili Hospital, you will have the responsibility for providing food production and front line supervision support to all catering staff involved in food service and food production for staff, visitors and patients.

The post holder will work a 37.5 hour week, with a requirement to work on a rota basis which will including weekends.

We offer good rates of pay with enhanced weekend rates, pension and an attractive holiday package.

Main duties of the job

Applicants will have a proven track record of supervising staff groups.

Due to the nature of the job, a professional cooking background is desirable for this role, in order to be able to provide patient feeding and retail dishes.

Excellent communication skills, together with a flexible approach to the needs of the service are essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
