About The Purchasing And Packaging Team

Based within the Purchasing and Packaging division of the business, the Purchasing and Packaging team responsible for the sourcing of componentry for Beauty Brands with expectation of expertise in the understanding of consumer use, shelf appeal and customer requirement in packaging. Incorporating knowledge of the supplier capabilities in all commodity materials to drive cost benefit to the business as well as forming a strong supplier base. The Purchasing and Packaging team are responsible for ensuring the supplier base is diverse, flexible, adaptable, and willing to develop long term relationships and deliver quality and innovative product.

Job Title

Reporting to the Buying Manager, the Assistant Buyer is responsible for providing support to all members of the Purchasing and Packaging team undertaking a variety of administrative tasks where required.

• Create Packaging briefs for new NPD projects, ensuring they are accurate and detailed.
• Ensure briefs are specifically targeted to meet the brands pillars.
• Ensure all Packaging briefs have been actioned within the KPI target.
• Review Quotations to ensure these are accurate and correct prior to issue.
• Ensure all Samples received are recorded correctly via FPS.
• Request and track samples required for compatibility testing.
• Identify new suppliers and share with the Tactical team for further investigation.
• Ensure all price books are correct and up to date on Sage x 3
• Ensure all lead times for new QR’s are accurate and correct.
• Generate presentations to support packaging briefs to be shared with customer.
• Attend, where applicable customer facing meetings and ensure clear actions are recorded and followed through in a timely manner.
• Generate views to be shared with SLT on packaging solutions, incorporating all costs associated.
• Attend, where applicable, packaging shows and supplier meetings to gain further understanding of supplier capabilities.
• Align to strategic procurement targets and deliver solutions to support.
• Support on Procurement tasks as and when required.
• Aid all members of the department in administrative tasks
• Take notes in clear and concise manner for internal and external meetings
• Communicating effectively and positively with all teams, colleagues, and managers.
• Take reasonable care for the health and safety for yourself and other persons who may be affected by your work
• To cooperate with regards to all company health & safety measures, following H&S training when using equipment
• Report to a person in authority any work situation which may represent a serious or imminent danger to health & safety or any shortcomings in the protection arrangements to health & safety. In respect of any hazards remember ‘see it, report it’
• Helping to promote a positive working atmosphere within the company.
