Job Description

The Application Support Engineer for process gas and laser analysers provides global world class support to all Emerson customers throughout the product lifecycle. With minimal mentorship and direction, this role will work with the Emerson sales channel to promote, sell and support products with a strong focus on technical and commercial customer communication. Working as part of the Application Engineering Team whose aim is to provide the highest standards of customer care in accordance with Emerson’s “Think Customer” principles!

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Sales Support: Assist the sales team in pre-sales activities, ensuring that technical requirements and customer needs are accurately understood and addressed.
  • Product Expertise: Provide in-depth technical knowledge of process gas and laser analyser products, including their features, specifications, and applications, to support customer inquiries and sales efforts.
  • Training & Support: Provide technical training to sales offices on the accurate selection of analyzer options, analyzer specifications, applications and calculation of Intercompany pricing.
  • Solution Configuration: Work closely with sales offices to configure tailored gas analysis solutions that meet their specific requirements and regulatory needs.
  • Market Insights: Stay updated on industry trends, product developments, and competitor offerings to provide relevant market intelligence and assist in product positioning.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, chemistry, or related scientific field.
  • Knowledge of gas analysis technologies and measuring principles.
  • Excellent communication and social skills, with the ability to explain sophisticated technical concepts to non-technical customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Knowledge of CRM systems a bonus.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience working with gas analysis equipment and/or 2-3 years of experience in a technical support or sales support role, preferably within the gas analysis or instrumentation industry.
  • Knowledge of spectroscopic techniques including IR and UV-Vis and familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to gas analysis (e.g., ISO, ATEX, ).
