API Developer – Automation & Integration

Ecolab are on the lookout for a proactive and technically skilled API Developer to help drive automation across our UKIE operations. Your mission? To simplify and streamline how work orders are closed by our field teams—making life easier for both our people and our customers.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate with internal teams and customer technical stakeholders to design secure, scalable API solutions that align with our business goals. If you enjoy solving problems with clean, efficient code—and you’re comfortable navigating both technical and business conversations—this could be the perfect fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, building, and maintaining secure APIs to automate operational workflows, especially around work order management
  • Partnering with internal teams (Field Operations, Digital, and Functional) and external customer technical teams to gather requirements and deliver integration solutions
  • Ensuring all APIs meet security and compliance standards, working closely with IT security
  • Troubleshooting and resolving integration issues to keep operations running smoothly
  • Creating clear documentation for APIs, workflows, and integration guides
  • Contributing to wider automation and digital transformation initiatives across the business

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong experience in API development using C# and MSSQL
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design, integration patterns, and best practices
  • Proven ability to engage with technical stakeholders and explain complex solutions clearly
  • Familiarity with IT security principles and secure development environments
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills in English
  • Experience working in Agile development environments

Desirable Skills And Experience

  • Experience with PHP and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Power BI development
  • Knowledge of field service or work order management systems
  • Exposure to automation platforms or workflow orchestration tools
  • French language skills
