Position Overview

StepStone is seeking an operations professional to support the team offering the firm’s semi-liquid, open-ended private market funds. The selected candidate will interact and collaborate with various internal departments including business development, due diligence, fund accounting, fund operations, operational due diligence, legal and compliance.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile individual to join our Team. This is a highly varied role which is perfect for someone ambitious, adaptable, and eager to develop diverse skills in a demanding but rewarding environment.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement processes for new initiatives and technologies including new and existing reporting requirements of distribution platforms, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and track solicitation and jurisdictional-based investments to ensure alignment with regulatory compliance.
  • Design, implement, and continuously review operational processes for the non-US business to ensure they are scalable and efficient
  • Regulatory Reporting – Production and Dissemination of Reporting and development and enhancement of this workstream
  • Develop and enhance Internal product and investor databases
  • Apply for and maintain Fund and Share Class Identifiers
  • Work with various internal and external teams on fee rebates and managing process from start to finish each quarter
  • Assist with maintaining Salesforce
  • Interface and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including product specialists, compliance, legal, risk and product control
  • Maintain Operations’ team procedures and manage the annual update
  • Working efficiently and effectively, streamline processes where possible
  • Assist and lead various projects and analyses for the private wealth and business development teams.


Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Team player with a strong work ethic and an interest in private markets and/or private wealth.
  • Excellent attention to process and detail
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
  • Highly organised and self-directed individual who pays close attention to detail and can multitask among various projects.
  • Committed to meeting deadlines and progressing workstreams across multiple teams with limited supervision.
  • Effective and clear communication skills, both verbally and written, with all levels of personnel, both internal and external.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with proven track record of leading projects and initiatives from beginning to end.
  • Highly motivated, ambitious individual with a growth mindset that flourishes in a challenging, fast-paced, and professional environment with frequent shifts of priorities as business needs dictate.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, finance, accounting, business, or other related degree
  • Ideally, you have some experience working in an operational or process-oriented capacity
