To be successful as an AI/ML Data Scientist you should have experience with:


  • Python programming aligned to data transformation, cleanse, data analytics and natural language understanding/processing
  • Working with large structured and unstructured data from multiple sources/logs/transcripts
  • Excel (advanced i.e macros/indexing/lookups)
  • Proficient with SQL (or similar query languages)
  • AWS Ecosystem (Lex, Connect, Cloudwatch, SageMaker, Bedrock)
  • Interfacing with centralised data solutions i.e. data warehouse/data lakes
  • Required Data Visualisation experience (configuration/implementing dashboards) ideally ESaaS/Kibana or similar i.e. Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik etc
  • Machine Learning & Deep Learning Knowledge Programming
  • Good understanding of NLP techniques & model is crucial
  • AWS ecosystem


Other Highly Valued Skills Include


  • Data engineering /MLOps experience (building data pipelines ) & Building chatbot experience
  • AWS connect, Bedrock, SageMaker & LEX
  • ML libraries experience
  • Base understanding of technology strategy including infrastructure estate, applications, cloud, digital, data, cyber and GenAI technologies.
  • Good understanding of governance, and operational matters including financials, workforce, controls, processes and reporting.
  • A demonstrated ability to easily identify and drive process efficiencies and automation opportunities to improve output.
  • Good consulting skills, with demonstrated success working in collaboration with different teams across banking and in managing teams to deliver outputs


This role will be based out of our Northampton campus

Purpose of the role

To use innovative data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves, leveraging these insights to inform strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organisation.

Accountabilities


  • Identification, collection, extraction of data from various sources, including internal and external sources.
  • Performing data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis.
  • Development and maintenance of efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing.
  • Design and conduct of statistical and machine learning models to analyse patterns, trends, and relationships in the data.
  • Development and implementation of predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to seek out opportunities to add value from data through Data Science.
