As an Administration assistant, you’ll play a key part in supporting the day-to-day running of the site, working across engineering, marine, and operations teams.

A self-starter with a can-do attitude and a solutions-based approach.This is a varied and hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being involved in all aspects of port services and operations.
Essential Requirements
The standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, with an earlier finish of 16:30 on Fridays, totalling 37 hours per week.

As an Administration assistant, you’ll play a key part in supporting the day-to-day running of the site, working across engineering, marine, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with Key Customers and external stakeholders (particularly BAES), Property Team, Port Manager and Management team at Barrow, Regional Commercial Manager, Engineering Resources Manager, Utility Suppliers and Shipping Agents, Administration Team.
- Deliver administrative support across the port of Barrow
- Assist with billing processes and respond to customer needs
- Deliver a High Standard Customer Service for key clients
- Handle ad-hoc tasks and assist cross-functional teams
- Raising purchase order requisitions and booking in of materials
- End to End support for customers for both developing and existing contracts.
- Ensure compliance with ABP’s Health, Safety & Environment Management System.
- Support operational and commercial teams with enquiries for quotes for various cargoes/projects
- Support with the delivery of submarine exit programmes.

- Effective communication skills.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Valid driving licence.
- Have a can-do attitude.
- Ability to deliver the ethos of exceptional customer service and always seeking to improve quality and service for both internal / external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate clear abilities to influence people at all levels, internal and external, through listening and adjusting communication style to meet the needs of the audience.
- Results orientated with good project management and execution skills.
- Strong written and spoken English language skills.
- Strong IT skills.
- Proficient with Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to learn new IT systems.
- Commitment to getting a job done.
- Previous Health & Safety responsibilities (such as IOSH or NEBOSH)
