Actemium Design - Business Development Manager

Actemium UK

Date: 4 weeks ago
City: Chorley
Contract type: Full time
Actemium Design (formerly North West Projects) is a national engineering design company with a regulated industry sector focus. We offer mechanical, EC&I, process engineering and design alongside project management and control. Being part of VINCI Energies with a turnover of €14 billion, has allowed Actemium Design to grow in an exciting and sustainable manner.

About The Role

To facilitate our further growth into the wider nuclear sector, we are recruiting a dedicated Business Development Manager to target opportunities for our multi-discipline engineering design services. You will identify and evaluate potential opportunities, establish close customer relationships, communicate the services offered by Actemium Design and the wider group businesses to convert these opportunities into projects for delivery.

The Business Development Manager will focus on developing new business opportunities in line with the company’s objectives and strategy for growth through partner organisations, and nurture relationships direct with the end users. Although the emphasis will be on new business development (70%), it is expected that the Business Development Manager will also be responsible for continued business development with existing accounts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, market activities and conditions, and competitor activities to proactively identify potential opportunities or threats.
  • Develop and implement Capture Plans for qualified opportunities.
  • Prepare and present reports on sales forecasts and market insight to internal stakeholders to inform the Bid / No-Bid decision-making process.
  • Monitoring and ensuring a balanced portfolio of work in line with strategic objectives and where practicably achievable.
  • Acting as an ambassador of the company and of VINCI Energies group in relationships with customers and other professional organisations.

The Person

As the ideal candidate, you will have a proven background in new business development, ideally in project or services management, to the UK nuclear industry, with experience of short-term and long-term project lead times with the ability to develop, implement and manage strategies for both.

With a background working in a customer facing role to identify and evaluate opportunities and build key relationships for future work for the business, you will also possess the following attributes:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive, with a strong drive to achieve targets and deliver results.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive team culture.

Preferably, you will have an engineering background in either Mechanical, Control, Electrical and Instrumentation (CE&I) or Process engineering disciplines so that they understand the technical requirements of the customer’s projects.

The role will be primarily based out of the Actemium Design office, however the Business Development Manager will be expected to travel frequently and visit customer sites as necessary to fulfil their duties. There is also expected to be an element of independent remote working against assigned targeted objectives.
