An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join our newly acquired Lloyd Jaguar Land Rover based in York.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the accounts department. Working closely with the dealership’s Assistant Accountant and Retailer Accountant, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day transactional accounting tasks, supporting accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the success of the business.
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 37.5 hours

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the accounts department. Working closely with the dealership’s Assistant Accountant and Retailer Accountant, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day transactional accounting tasks, supporting accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the success of the business.

Role Responsibilities
- Checking and re-allocating nominal postings
- Coding of Purchase Invoices
- Credit Control
- Completing and checking of mileage logs
- Ledger Maintenance – ensuring Sales and Purchase Ledgers are tidy
- Initiating Monthly Run and paying Inter Company Accounts
- Checking and allocating Manufacturer commission
- Stock counts
- Responsible for Petty Cash
- Daily Banking
- Sales & Purchase Ledger
- Credit Control
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- IT Literate.
- General office / administration experience
- Effective time management and attention to detail
- AAT qualification would be desirable but not essential
- Experience of working in the motor industry and knowledge of Kerridge would be desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given.
