1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Weymouth
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2025

About The Role
GSL Education are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) to work at an outstanding school in Weymouth. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA), you will provide tailored support to an individual student, helping them engage with their learning and build confidence in the classroom.
The role of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) is both rewarding and impactful, offering the chance to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to deliver personalised strategies that help the student overcome challenges and thrive academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA):

- Provide one-to-one support for a student, helping them access the curriculum.
- Work closely with teachers to adapt lessons and activities to suit the student’s needs.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor the student’s progress and provide feedback to the teaching team and SENCO.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviours.
- Previous experience as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) or in a similar role is desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual student needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, nurturing approach to working with children.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Competitive pay rates (£12.82 to £14.72 per hour, Depending on Experience).
