Key Responsibilities of a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide personalised one-on-one support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism and social-emotional challenges.
- Work closely with teachers and fellow SEN staff to foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Implement tailored strategies to encourage positive behaviour and active participation in learning activities.
- Assist with behaviour management, helping to maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Adapt your approach to meet each student's unique needs, ensuring they feel a sense of belonging and can thrive both academically and emotionally.
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
- Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, including physical disabilities, language disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
- Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or special education.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to collaborate with families and other professionals.
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN strategies and best practices.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
