Working as part of a much larger Catering team, your role will be to serve the Patient’s meals, on the ward at lunch and supper time services. You will have a direct impact on the quality and service standards our Patience deserve, by re-heating, presenting and serving, fresh, quality prepared meals and desserts along with providing a range of alternative dishes, for those Patients on special diets.
We are an 800 Patient acute hospital and are offering you the chance to join our team in delivering our service. We have vacancies for early evening shifts now available. Full training will be given in this role and there may be wider opportunities to work in other areas of the catering department, if required.

To work as a member of the team ensuring a high standard of service to patients in quality presentation and correct temperature.
To clean the ward beverages fridges as per the schedule.
To assist in the regeneration and distribution of patients’ meals, and any associated tasks.
To practice stock rotations, at ward level, and ensure the dates of all stock is checked regularly.
To check stocks of supplies held at ward level and liaise with Supervisors so that adequate stock levels are maintained.
To collect food pods from designated areas.
To carry out basic food preparation, eg. making custard & gravy
To monitor and record fridge/freezer temperatures
To collect and wash patient crockery after each meal service.
To clean ward kitchens and prepare equipment ready for the next meal service.
