Help us create a better future, quicker

At SP Energy Networks, we’re building the electricity network of the future – one that supports the transition to net zero while delivering safe, reliable and affordable energy for our customers. We are transforming how we plan, invest and deliver change across the organisation, ensuring that every pound we invest delivers real, measurable value for customers, communities and stakeholders.

The Integrated Planning & Performance (IPP) function sits at the heart of this ambition, providing enterprise ‑ wide oversight of strategy, performance, transformation and value.

What you’ll be doing

The Value Realisation Manager plays a critical role in ensuring SPEN’s transformation and digital investments deliver tangible, demonstrable value. Sitting at the centre of the IPP function, the role is responsible for establishing and embedding a consistent, enterprise‑wide approach to defining, measuring, tracking and realising benefits across SPEN’s change portfolio.

You will work closely with Transformation, Digital, Finance, Control and Network Planning & Regulation (NP&R) teams, providing senior leaders and governance forums with clear, credible evidence to support decisions on where to continue investment, where to recalibrate , and where to stop activity.

This role is key to strengthening regulatory confidence, improving value for money, and ensuring transformation delivers real performance improvement – not just activity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Define and embed SPEN’s enterprise approach to benefits and value realisation across transformation , AI and digital initiatives.

  • Set standards, frameworks and metrics to ensure value is assessed consistently, proportionately and credibly.

  • Support initiative and programme leads to build robust value cases, benefits profiles and measurable outcomes.

  • Track benefits through delivery and into business ‑ as ‑ usual, ensuring value is realised and evidenced over time.

  • Provide portfolio ‑ level insight on value delivery, emerging risks and under ‑ performing initiatives.

  • Inform investment, prioritisation and assurance decisions by supplying clear, decision ‑ ready evidence of value.

  • Work closely with Finance, Control and NP&R to align value tracking with regulatory, investment and performance requirements.

What you’ll bring

You will bring strong experience in benefits management, value realisation or investment assurance within complex organisations, ideally within transformation, digital or change portfolios. You will be confident working with senior stakeholders, able to challenge constructively, and comfortable operating in environments where evidence, judgement and clarity matter.

You’ll also bring:

  • Experience defining and embedding benefits management or value realisation frameworks.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear insight.

  • Credibility with senior leaders and governance forums.

  • An enterprise mindset and passion for improving how organisations invest and deliver value.

What’s in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.

At ScottishPower, we believe it’s the little things we do in life that make a big difference. From helping you look after your family’s wellbeing, save for your future and take personal steps for climate action – our benefits are designed to help you do just that - so that you have everything you need to take care of your world – today and tomorrow. That’s why our benefits include:

  • 36 days annual leave

  • Share Schemes
  • Payroll Giving and Charity Matched Funding
  • Technology Vouchers – save more and spread the cost of your technology purchases
  • Electric Vehicle Schemes – to help you transition to green/clean driving
