  • This is a career graded post with progress beyond some increments may be accelerated dependent on achieving specific competencies agreed with the manager.

We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Property and Place team as a Trainee Surveyor.

Your role:

To assist the Estates Team within Property and Place with the management of the asset portfolio. Work will include valuations, lease renewals, rent reviews, lettings, inspections of the assets, property management and reporting to Senior Officers and members on the performance of the portfolio.

What you will need:

The post holder will have experience in working to agreed targets within a commercial environment and be up to date with current property legislation and practice. The candidate will have first hand knowledge of property related issues faced by local authorities and other public sector organisations.

The candidate will be able to meet tight deadlines and have the ability to collect and analyse complex information, to consider and evaluate all relevant factors and draw logical and reasoned conclusions.

Training and Development:

At East Suffolk Council, we are committed to investing in the development of our people. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive support to progress towards becoming a Chartered Surveyor, including funding and study support for a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited degree where required. In addition, the Council will provide structured guidance, mentoring and practical experience to support the candidate through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) process and on their journey to achieving Chartered status.
