Our theatres support a wide range of specialties, including Emergency General Surgery, Elective and Emergency Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, and Ophthalmology—offering a rich and varied clinical experience. If you have these skills we would love to hear from you.
As a Band 6, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Band 7 Leadership Team with the day-to-day operational management of the theatre suite, ensuring the delivery of high standards of patient care and smooth, efficient service provision.

Main duties of the job
The Department has a friendly and supportive environment, which is strongly centred on teamwork and patient care. The successful candidate would be required to hold either a RGN/RN or Operating Department Practice qualification.
We are a proactive, student placement provider, therefore candidates must possess or be willing to work towards a mentorship qualification.
Provide supervisory management and leadership skills and be motivated towards self-development in leadership studies.
Support the departmental leads in maintaining an efficient and effective service delivering safe patient care within an environment that promotes a responsive approach to changing health care needs.
Lead on a day-to-day basis the running of specialist clinical areas, and when allocated, act as the Theatre Coordinator for the department, providing supervisory management and leadership skills in an environment which is complex and pressurised.
Provide emergency care provision across the hospital site on emergency bleeps supporting the Resuscitation, Trauma response and Obstetric teams.
Work as a skilled emergency practitioner, working autonomously to support other colleagues to coordinate clinical areas and to provide specialised knowledge ensuring the maintenance and development of a skilled Nursing and Practitioner workforce.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
