Technical Assurance Coordinator Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the CWA Wide Section.

What will you do?

The Technical Assurance Coordinator supports the implementation of technical assurance processes across the Sizewell C (SZC) Civil Works Alliance. Reporting to the Technical Assurance Manager (TAM), the Technical Assurance Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that design and construction deliverables comply with the project’s Technical Assurance Plan (TAP), client requirements, and regulatory standards.

The Technical Coordinator works closely with design, construction, quality, and digital engineering teams to coordinate assurance activities, gather and review evidence, and support the progressive assurance of work packages through the technical lifecycle. This includes facilitating design reviews, tracking compliance documentation, and supporting gateway passport submissions.

This role is ideal for an early to mid-career engineering professional with a background in civil engineering and a strong interest in technical governance, systems engineering, and quality assurance. The Technical Coordinator role offers a development pathway into more senior assurance or engineering leadership roles within the Engineering & Assurance function.

The Technical Assurance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the delivery of technical assurance across the Civil Works Alliance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the implementation of the Technical Assurance Plan (TAP) across design and construction teams.
  • Coordinate and track assurance activities for assigned work packages, including:
    • Scheduling and supporting design reviews
    • Collating and reviewing assurance evidence (e.g. compliance matrices, review records, certificates).
    • Assisting in the preparation and submission of gateway passport documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with technical processes and escalate issues to the TAM as required.
  • Liaise with engineering, quality, environmental, and BIM teams to ensure integrated assurance inputs.
  • Assist in managing technical interfaces and tracking resolution of assurance-related actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of assurance status and documentation in line with project requirements.
  • Contribute to a culture of right-first-time delivery and continuous improvement in assurance practices.

  • Familiarity with UK regulations such as CDM and Temporary Works.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams.

Desirable

  • Experience in nuclear or similarly regulated sectors.
  • Exposure to design review processes and technical documentation control.
  • Working knowledge of BIM and digital engineering tools.
