Date: 4 hours ago
City: Watford
Contract type: Full time
We are seeking exceptional, high-performing teaching specialists to join our Quality Team. This is an exciting, cross-college role working across both Barnfield College and West Herts College at all campuses – Watford, Barnfield and Hemel Hempstead.
The main purpose of this role is to drive excellence in teaching, learning and assessment. You will be supporting teachers to become highly effective practitioners through coaching and development. You will also be involved in a range of quality assurance, improvement and CPD activities.
To be successful in this role, you must be a fully qualified teacher (L5 Cert. Ed. or equivalent). You will be a consistently high-performing teacher and must have experience of working within a Further Education college setting.
The successful candidate will have experience working with a range of awarding organisations. You will have a comprehensive understanding of effective planning, teaching strategies and assessment practices in order to design and implement exciting and engaging lessons. Experience of delivering externally assessed qualifications is beneficial.
You will need to be approachable and communicate clearly; you’ll need to use your initiative. You will be an integral team member who is confident delivering training, coaching teachers and liaising with stakeholders.
It’s a fast-paced environment, so you will be working on multiple priorities at any given time. A comprehensive understanding of professional standards, including the OFSTED Toolkit, is beneficial.
You will be passionate about developing others and be willing to use coaching to improve practice, rather than simply evaluating performance. Your ability to build credibility quickly, challenge constructively and support staff to improve will be central to your success in this role.
In return, you will join a forward-thinking and supportive team with genuine scope to influence and shape practice across the organisation. We are committed to your continued professional development and will actively support you to grow within the role.
