The Role
The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for attracting and securing the right people to meet current and future business needs.
The role combines proactive talent acquisition (pipeline building and headhunting) with disciplined recruitment delivery, working closely with the Strategic Resources Lead (SRL), HR, and hiring managers to move from approved requirement through to successful onboarding.
This is a hands-on role focused on securing the right capability through direct sourcing and strong stakeholder engagement.

The Role
The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for attracting and securing the right people to meet current and future business needs.

What You'll Be Doing
Understanding Business Needs (TA focus)
- Work alongside the Strategic Resource Lead and HR to align hiring activity with business plans
- Prioritise roles critical to the business
- Proactively identify and engage high-quality candidates for key and specialist roles
- Build and maintain talent pipelines
- Use direct sourcing methods (LinkedIn, indeed, referrals, networks) as a primary channel
- Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor activity, and talent availability
- Act as the central point of contact for candidates and agencies (if required) throughout the process
- Ensure all candidates (direct or agency) are entered and managed within Team Tailor
- Maintain a high-quality candidate experience through:

Supporting Managers (Shared)
- Work closely with hiring managers to define requirements and expectations
- Provide insight on market conditions, candidate availability, and realistic hiring approaches
- Support and challenge decisions to improve quality of hire
- Act as a trusted point of contact throughout the recruitment process
- Track and report key metrics (pipeline strength, time to hire, source effectiveness)
- Provide clear updates to the Strategic Resource Lead and stakeholders
- Use data to highlight risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities
- Support better decision-making through simple, meaningful insight
- Ensure a clean and structured handover to HR following offer acceptance
- Work with Hiring Managers and HR to support a smooth transition into onboarding
What We’re Looking For
- Experience across both direct sourcing / headhunting and recruitment delivery
- Strong understanding of candidate assessment and hiring processes
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
- Experience in construction, engineering, or infrastructure environments
- Understanding of business planning / resource strategy
- Experience using recruitment systems and reporting tools
