This is a hybrid role that requires you to be in our Newcastle upon Tyne office two days a week. Please apply only if you’re comfortable with this arrangement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Writing clean, reusable and scalable code that stands the test of time
  • Working closely with Product and other engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible and well-implemented
  • Optimising applications for performance, responsiveness and scalability
  • Contributing to documentation and shared knowledge, helping the whole team move faster

  • Reviewing code, sharing feedback and supporting high engineering standards
  • Debugging and problem-solving across frontend applications

  • Comfortable consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON
  • Confident building responsive, iOS and Android applications
  • Experience incorporating AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or similar) into the software development workflow to accelerate delivery, enhance code quality and improve productivity
  • Experience with asset build tools and frontend tooling
  • Solid understanding of Git and version control workflows
  • A good grasp of accessibility, web standards and UX best practices
  • Experience reviewing code and sharing knowledge with others
  • A practical, problem-solving mindset and the ability to debug effectively
  • Happy working independently on tasks while also collaborating as part of a team
