What You’ll Do
Software Development Specialist to automate operational processes.
Coding, data, technology – that’s your world! Be part of our Digital Operations Teams and shape new and innovative solutions for the transformation of Vodafone towards the Digital Telco. Work with state-of-the art CI/CD tools, agile infrastructure, and open-source software.
As a member of the Vodafone Network Operations Data Science & Software Development department your main focus will be to build scalable software in Python. The services and software you develop will be used to drive the Digital Transformation of our area. You will have opportunities to trial tools and products to enhance new and existing software.
Working directly from customer requirements, you’ll be hands-on across the full development lifecycle—exploring concepts, validating feasibility, and writing clean, reliable code that brings solutions to life.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior developers and stakeholders to ensure solutions are delivered to scope, on time, and to a high standard. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills, gain exposure to modern development practices, and build experience in a structured, supportive environment.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Develop software as part of a dynamic team employing agile methodologies
- Design intelligent solutions that both achieve the requirements and are easily maintainable
- Drive solution design to build solid, flexible, and extendable solutions
- Remain up to date in terms of current (and future) technologic trends
- Follow a continuous “everything” approach (continuous development, integration, testing and deployment)
- Sharing your expertise and best-practices with your fellow teammates in order to grow as a team
- Security Clearance or Eligible for gaining Security Clearance
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- Problem solving and solution-oriented thinking
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Patience and attention to detail
- Strong programming knowledge and curiosity
- Understanding of Networks (IP/Optical)
- Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering (or equivalent) or relevant industry experience
- Between 3-5 years experience in Python coding and deploying real-world services and solutions
- Knowledge of databases (SQL and/or noSQL)
- Know how in common CI/CD tools (GitLab, ADO)
- Scripting, command line and operating systems administration knowledge on Linux
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, namely Scrum

- Yearly bonus: 5%
- Annual leave: 28 days + bank holidays + the opportunity to buy/sell/carry over 5 days/year

- Maternity leave: 52 weeks: the first 13 weeks are fully paid, followed by 26 weeks of half pay
