Shift Leader

Location: Bryn Derwen, Ewenny Road, Bridgend, CF35 5AW

Hours: Full-time – 36 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, rota basis) 8am - 9pm, 9pm - 8am

Pay: £13.75 per hour

About the Service

Bryn Derwen is a 6 bed supported living service supporting adults male and female with autism, mental health, learning disabilities and cerebral palsy. The service provides a safe, structured and person-centred environment where individuals are supported to build independence, develop daily living skills, and achieve their personal goals.

People we support enjoy a range of activities within the service and in the community, including shopping, cooking, cinema and swimming, helping them to stay engaged, active and connected.

Our Service Leader work both days and night shifts Care experience is essential, and we can work with over 18’s.

• You’ll be a leader of one of our teams, inspiring them to be the best they can be.
• You’ll manage the service when the manager is away, creating a culture that allows for learning and fun.
• You’ll help the people we support to develop life skills, make choices and reach their potential for independence. Help them to feel included in the community.
• Check people are getting involved and enjoying their activity plans.
• Communicate in a clear and suitable way.
• Great Planning & Leadership.
• Organise and coordinate the assessment of care plans to make sure they meet the needs of the people we support.
• Organise the team so that tasks are completed. Supervising them formally when asked by your manager.
• Solve problems and delegate tasks, so we run our service effectively.
• You’ll process finances and manage medication orders.
• Work with your manager if there are any challenges for cover, attendance, or conduct
• Work with health professionals and other authorities

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• A caring, positive and reliable attitude
• Passion for supporting others
• QCF Level 3 in Health and social care
• Previous experience in a care

Desirable:

• Driver
