Job Description
Objectives
As a Service Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring our Digital Completion Services and instrumentation systems are prepared, tested and operating reliably for customers worldwide.
Working from our Aberdeen facility, you'll split your time between the workshop and customer sites, supporting equipment build, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting. When required, you'll travel offshore and internationally to provide installation and operational support.
This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced electronic monitoring systems, industrial communications and instrumentation technologies while receiving structured training and development from experienced engineers. Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, configure and test Digital Completion Services (DCS) and MD Totco equipment.
- Prepare and certify electronic instrumentation prior to mobilisation.
- Install, commission and support instrumentation systems at customer locations.
- Diagnose electrical, instrumentation and communication faults both remotely and on site.
- Configure industrial PCs, HMIs and communication networks supporting monitoring systems.
- Calibrate sensors and verify system performance before deployment.
- Complete technical documentation, calibration records and service reports accurately.
- Support workshop maintenance, repairs and equipment readiness.
- Travel within the UK and internationally, including offshore assignments when required.
- Work safely and in accordance with NOV and customer HSE standards.
Essential Qualifications
- SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent recognised qualification) in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation.
- Practical experience working with electrical, electronic or instrumentation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting and fault finding on electrical or instrumentation equipment.
- Willingness to travel within the UK, internationally and offshore when required.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Offshore experience within the energy or industrial sectors.
- Current CompEx certification.
- Experience with industrial instrumentation or control systems.
- Familiarity with industrial networking, communications or HMI systems.
- Experience calibrating electronic sensors and instrumentation.
- IT or networking knowledge would be advantageous
