Brecon Road is located in Abergavenny. We offer residential support for five females who have mental health needs. Our service is off a main road, a short walk from the town centre.

We are dedicated to providing a stimulating environment for our residents where they can feel safe and flourish. Our team give the people we care for the greatest opportunity to reach their full potential, by providing nurturing, structured and supportive care.

Due to the requirements of our residents, we can only consider Female candidates for this role and you will be required to work every other weekend.

What you'll be doing

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will act as a positive role model, providing effective supervision and guidance to support staff, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered at all times.
You will play a key role in supervising day-to-day operations, coaching colleagues, leading team meetings, and ensuring the people who use our service are supported to live fulfilling, independent lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred support and care
• Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication.
• Ensure residents have person-centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities.
• Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
• Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
• Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy.
• Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
• Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.

About You:

• Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker is essential.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others

• Reliable, flexible, and proactive in problem-solving.
