The Role
The Senior Programme Manager will have a key role in leading one of two portfolios of work, the successful development, delivery and contract management of the £738m South Wales Metro transformation programme.

While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.

The Senior Programme Manager will have a key role in leading one of two portfolios of work, the successful development, delivery and contract management of the £738m South Wales Metro transformation programme.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, management and delivery of all programme of works projects by following the project lifecycle processes to ensure the team can deliver safely, on time, to cost and to quality.
- Provide health and safety governance by identifying and mapping out Construction Design Management (CDM) 2015 obligations for projects within the portfolio of works to maintain compliance.
- Manage the establishment of the initial project baseline to provide effective measurement and control; the baseline will encompass project documentation, key deliverables, delivery strategy, resource requirements, outputs/measures, risks, key dates and cost information.
- Identify, log and manage all significant risks which could affect the delivery of the portfolio, working with the Risk Manager, ensuring that an owner is allocated to each risk and that a Risk Log is developed and maintained.
- Identify opportunities within the portfolio of work and lead the promotion and sharing of best practice between programmes to maximise outcome vs budget.
- Establish relationships and foster clear lines of communication with external stakeholders, to ensure requirements and expectations are mapped and fully understood.
- Demonstrable experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects, including managing multi-million-pound budgets and having planning and programme responsibility.
- Knowledge and experience of effective contract management.
- Demonstrable experience of managing complex interfaces with multiple contractors.
- Demonstrable experience in civil engineering or an equivalent sector.
- A demonstrable ability to develop, lead and motivate a team.
