On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Senior Information Rights Manager (Inside IR35) for a 4 month hybrid contract based in Swindon.

As a Senior Information Rights Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
Disability Confident

As a Senior Information Rights Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Reviewing and updating information rights policies and guidance, ensuring alignment with current legislation
- Supporting implementation of changes arising from the Data (Use and Access) Act
- Reviewing and improving privacy notices, ensuring accessibility and compliance
- Analysing data incidents and developing recommendations, training, and guidance
- Monitoring emerging legislation, standards, and regulatory guidance, and communicating changes effectively
- Providing expertadvice on:
- Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
- Data protection by design and default
- Transparency and accountability requirements
- Information rights and request handling (including FOI where applicable)
- Supporting delivery of monthly and annual reporting, including training and compliance metrics
- Collaborating with stakeholders across legal, governance, and programme teams
- Delivering clear organisation-wide communications on information governance topics
- Working across multiple workstreams, reprioritising based on business needs
- Strong, demonstrable experience working with data protection legislation
- Proven ability to communicate complex information in plain language (both written and verbal)
- Experience providing pragmatic advice to projects and business change initiatives
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across complex organisations
- Experience in policy development, review, or implementation
- Experience of interpreting and applying FOI legislation
- Experience working within a public sector or highly regulated environment
- Familiarity with information governance in business change programmes
- Experience in knowledge or information management services
- Exposure to tools such as OneTrust or eCase
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. IAPP, CIPM, CIPP, BCS)
